The Almondo estate gets a lot of deserved attention for their Arneis' cuvees, but their Nebbiolo is in fine form this vintage. From organically farmed vineyards north of Barolo, the soils here change to primarily sand, and this factors into the overall style, aroma, and flavor of the wine. Sandy soils often yield wines with heavenly bouquets and palates, and that is certainly the case here.
